Hello to all, and hello to May!
I would like to start this post out with a quick recipe that our family uses very frequently: the fruit smoothie (or the pink smoothie as Hannah calls it). We usually have this smoothie for breakfast and occasionally with lunch. So, here is the recipe for our fruit smoothie.
To start out, gather these ingredients:
Strawberries (frozen)
Blueberries (frozen)
Raspberries (frozen)
Banana slices (frozen)
Vanilla Yogurt
Coconut butter
Flax seed
A few baby spinach leaves (optional)
Agave Nectar
Milk
So now that you have your ingredients, pull out your blender and put in one or two banana slices…
Then dump in a nice sized helping of raspberries (about 1/4 cup)…
A handful or two of strawberries (1/2 to 3/4 cup)…
And 1/4-1/3 cups of blueberries…
Now, pull out a spoon and add one or two spoon of yogurt to your mix…
And an spoonful of coconut oil…
Then dump in a little flax seed (wheat germ works great for this too)… and a few baby spinach leaves (optional)
To sweeten the smoothie up a bit, we add about two teaspoons of agave nectar to the smoothie, but you could also use honey.
Finally, add milk…
Blend it up…
And serve!
The guys started their soccer earlier this month and we have been enjoying watching them play.
Also, our dance performance, This Is Love, is comming up in May, and the girls have been spending a great deal of time preparing for that. We are really looking forward to it!
That’s it for April! Enjoy your May, and God bless!
